The seventh parade celebrating the love of clay was held in Bolesławiec during the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival. This year, the Glinoluds’ guest was Marek Niedźwiecki, a presenter on Polish Radio Three.
The parade began with the wedding of a pair of Glinoluds. This is already the fourth pair of Glinoluds and the third wedding ceremony. Each time, the newlyweds are ceremonially married by the city mayor Piotr Roman.
This year, the couple exchanged solemn vows on the steps of the bank on Bankowa Street. The parade also set off from there. The fancifully dressed Glinoluds walked through the city streets and circled Bolesławiec’s Market Square. As always, the Bolesławiec residents and visiting guests covered in clay delighted people who had come to Bolesławiec especially that day to watch the clay procession—not of a thousand people, as the organizers said, but of more than 400.
Gliniada is one of the major events of the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival. Today’s programme also includes, among other things, the award ceremony for the 1st Wheel-Throwing Championships (small stage of the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival), a concert of Polish 1960s music, “Where Have Those Private Parties Gone?” (small stage of the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival), and Legends UK and Alan Silson (main stage of the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival).
