A native of Bolesławiec, Jan Wojciechowski has become a player for Zagłębie Lubin's first team. The 19-year-old midfielder will wear number 13. The footballer is a graduate of BKS Bobrzanie. In 2012, he had already played in Zagłębie Lubin's Młoda Ekstraklasa. Now he has been given a chance to play in the first team, which will face Pogoń Szczecin in Lubin on 19 July.
The 19-year-old learned that he would play for the first team during the training camp. A few days ago, Zagłębie's squad was officially presented, with Jan Wojciechowski included. “This is a great success for me. For now, it is difficult for me to believe it. Just a year ago I was playing in the fifth division in Bolesławiec, and I could only dream of what is happening now,” the young Zagłębie player told Istotne.pl.
Who does he owe this success to? Above all, to his talent, consistency and perseverance. As he says, former BKS coach Marcin Ciliński also helped him greatly, as did his parents, who supported him and continue to support him. “I would like to thank my parents, who helped me a great deal and even drove me to my first training sessions,” the young footballer says. He explains that for now he will focus on training, that he believes in his abilities and that he will fight for his goals. What are these goals? “I would like to be included in the matchday squad of 18 and sit on the bench, with thousands of fans around me. The next goal is to make my Ekstraklasa debut,” says Jan Wojciechowski.
