On Saturday, the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help resounded with folk and historical songs from Georgia. The male Rustavi Choir not only sang but also played traditional Georgian instruments. The people gathered in the church could hear, among other things, Georgian songs sung while harrowing and weeding fields, a lullaby, a lyrical song, and a lament for a son who did not return from the war.
On Sunday, a concert of early music was held at the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius. The Austrian Unicorn ensemble presented the audience with music from the time of Boccaccio’s Decameron. Performing medieval and early Renaissance music, the ensemble used instruments from those periods. The recorder, harp and fiddle were just some of the instruments played by the Austrian musicians.
