The Municipality of Bolesławiec has signed an agreement with the Association of Polish Municipalities of the Nysa Euroregion to co-finance the implementation of the project entitled “200 Years of the Napoleonic Epic in the Cross-Border Area of Lower Silesia and Saxony” במסגרת the Common Fund for Small Projects Poland–Saxony 2007–2013.

The project's main objective is to build awareness of our shared historical heritage and highlight Bolesławiec's role in the history of the border region, as well as to present an important historical period that had a significant influence on the cultural shape of the border area and Europe. The project assumes the dissemination of knowledge about the historical heritage of the cross-border area of Lower Silesia and Saxony—with particular emphasis on the turbulent period of the Napoleonic Wars—and the development of a shared assessment of the historical events of 1813.

The outcome of the activities undertaken as part of the project will be the organisation of a scholarly conference devoted primarily to the events connected with the 1813 Napoleonic campaign and their impact on the cross-border area. The conference will be complemented by a temporary exhibition presenting artefacts and documents from that period. The final element of the project will be the publication of a scholarly volume containing the conference proceedings and information about the exhibition held. Participation in all activities connected with the project will be free of charge and open to everyone.

The project “200 Years of the Napoleonic Epic in the Cross-Border Area of Lower Silesia and Saxony” is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund and by state-budget funds with the support of the Nysa Euroregion. The project will be implemented in cooperation with Römisch-Katholische Pfarrei Mariä Himmelfahrt in Leutersdorf. The project implementation period is from 1 June to 30 November 2013. The total value of the project is €13,490.00, of which 85%—€11,466.50—is co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund, 10%—€1,349.00—from the state budget, and 5%—€674.50—from the Municipality of Bolesławiec's own funds.
