In the 2011/2012 school year, the Janusz Korczak II General Secondary School in Bolesławiec undertook activities aimed at supporting and developing the passion for photography among students and staff of lower and upper secondary schools. The school carried out the “Photography – My Passion” project, as part of which four competitions and post-competition exhibitions were held.
This school year, the management of II LO and Joanna Turczyńska, the project coordinator, are continuing these activities, albeit in a different form. The photography competitions are open to everyone, and all amateur photographers may participate.
This spring, the school organized the “The World Around Us” competition. The announcement of the results, combined with the presentation of prizes to the winners, took place on Friday, June 7, at II Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Bolesławiec.
The jury consisted of: Joanna Turczyńska, teacher Iwona Florkowska, principal Mirosław Sakowski and female students of II LO. The winning entry was a photograph by Eliza Makiej (the winner received PLN 200). The jury awarded second prize to Michał Medyński (PLN 100). Roksana Salwerowicz took third place (PLN 50). Honorable mentions went to: Justyna Łuc and Krzysztof Horoniecki.
