On Wednesday (5 June), a meeting devoted to tourism in the broadest sense in the Bolesławiec region was held in the conference room of the county office. The meeting was organized by the Bolesławiec Economic Society and Bolesławiec County. The meeting was attended by representatives of the city and Bolesławiec County, the rural municipality, associations, the Bolesławiec Economic Society, teachers and local entrepreneurs. Jerzy Ludwin, vice-president of the Lower Silesian Tourist Organization, spoke about tourism in the region from a “business perspective” Jerzy Ludwin. The meeting participants also watched a multimedia presentation about the campaign of the promotional project for the Lower Silesian Forests. The presentation was discussed by a representative of Bolesławiec County – Dariusz Kwaśniewski.

However, by far the most time was devoted to a discussion about the current state of tourism and local government activities in this area. The discussion concerned not only the expansion of bicycle paths and other tourist attractions associated with the Lower Silesian Forests, but also deteriorating historic buildings, illegal rubbish dumps and neglected places in the city and county that discourage potential tourists. The meeting participants admitted that Bolesławiec’s tourism potential associated with ceramic production is still not being used. They also discussed the development of the area around the viaduct and the organization of canoeing trips on the rivers. The meeting lasted more than two hours.
