Krystian Wodniok invites you to his exhibition on Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the BOK-MCC gallery. The artist was born in 1965 in Katowice. He is a member of the Association of Polish Art Designers: Polska Sztuka Użytkowa and specializes in oil painting. He writes about his work: “The awareness of existence, coexistence and communion with nature, which is dying, and with people who are here but nevertheless leave, makes me want to capture and preserve this world in my paintings as I see and feel it; therefore, I do not yield to fashions.”
Krystian Wodniok’s works are characterized by diversity and the representation of many artistic trends. He paints portraits, landscapes, still lifes and genre scenes. He also makes copies of paintings from past and contemporary art, which are very popular in Poland and abroad. He willingly takes on religious, surrealist and marine subjects, while the particular focuses of his work are portraits and Jewish themes.
His works can be found in private collections in Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Italy (Vatican collections), Turkey, Israel, the USA and Australia. Another expression of recognition for the artist was being entrusted with running a painting studio at the International Ecumenical Congress in Viviers (France) in 1991.
In 1996 in Rome, the artist’s painting was received by Pope John Paul II. The artist also donates paintings to various charitable auctions, both in Poland and abroad, including auctions in New York and London held as part of the “Polish Visual Artists for Children” campaign for the SERCE Foundation – the European Centre of Children’s Friendship.
The exhibition will be open until June 30.
