The Mayor of Bolesławiec Piotr Roman signed an agreement with Edward Szczerbień, president of the South-Western Forum of Local Government “Pogranicze” association. The agreement concerns cooperation for the socio-economic development of the Western Integration Area. The agreement is based on partnership and cooperation for the sustainable development of the entire area as part of a project planned for implementation and co-financed by funds from the Norwegian Fund, as well as the creation and implementation of the Development Strategy for the Western Integration Area and the Integrated Territorial Investments Programme.
The declared areas of cooperation include: supporting the development of entrepreneurship through educational and infrastructural activities; cooperation in the implementation of educational and training programmes; supporting social activity, promoting the social economy and the development of personnel in the non-governmental organisation sector; supporting the implementation of innovative technologies, particularly in the SME sector; cooperation in activating older people; cooperation in the revitalisation of the area, increasing the area’s tourist appeal, and promoting local products; promoting the area; cooperation in creating the area’s transport connectivity and external accessibility; and cooperation in developing and implementing projects financed from external funds.
