BKS players gave their supporters a thriller with a happy ending in the 22nd round of the Jelenia Góra district league. On Saturday, April 27, the Bolesławiec team hosted GKS Warta Bolesławiecka. The match started well for the hosts. In the 8th minute, after a short corner-kick routine, Wojciech Glanc played the ball into the penalty area, and Jacek Bochnia headed it past Mariusz Wójcik. In the 15th minute, Emmanuel Ohagwu made a dangerous effort at Warta’s goal, but the ball went wide of the post. In the 38th minute, Marcin Kraśnicki struck powerfully, but the GKS goalkeeper managed to parry the ball for a corner. Just three minutes later, BKS scored a second goal. This goal also came from a cross by Wojciech Glanc. This time, Marcin Kraśnicki scored with a header. The first half ended 2:0.
The visitors took control in the second half. In the 51st minute, the players from Warta Bolesławiecka won a penalty. One of the BKS players handled the ball, and the referee pointed without hesitation to the penalty spot. Mateusz Orda stepped up, but he failed to surprise Manuel Kowalski, who read his opponent and parried the ball. The visiting player struck the rebound as well, but missed badly. The penalty was a warning to BKS that the visitors did not intend to give up the match without a fight. A few minutes later, Marek Spychalski failed to convert an excellent chance for the visitors, missing the target from several metres. Trailing 0:2, the visitors had nothing to lose and appeared increasingly often in BKS’s half, while BKS dropped back and waited for opportunities to counterattack. However, their accuracy was lacking. The Bolesławiec players fought hard but played very chaotically.
Towards the end of the match, the visitors had more possession, and from the flow of play it was not at all apparent that the teams were at opposite ends of the table. In the 90th minute, Marcin Kraśnicki found himself in a good position, but one-on-one with the GKS goalkeeper, he shot straight at him. Warta, playing with determination, scored a consolation goal in the 92nd minute. Mariusz Krzysik beat the BKS goalkeeper. After a difficult and rather scrappy match, BKS fortunately defeated GKS Warta Bolesławiecka 2:1 (2:0) and retained top spot in the league table. On May 1 at 5:00 p.m., the Bolesławiec team will host Piast Wykroty.
