On Friday, April 12, before the Zagłębie Lubin–Korona Kielce football match, 25 boys training at the Bolesławiec branch of Football Academy became a player escort for Zagłębie and Korona. The young footballers from Bolesławiec led the Ekstraklasa players onto the pitch. From the stands, the event was watched by their FA teammates, parents, grandparents and friends. In total, a group of more than 80 people arrived at the Dialog Arena stadium in Lubin, and for most of them it was the first Ekstraklasa match they had ever watched live.
The boys were extremely excited; many of them were so overwhelmed that they could not even remember the names of the footballers they were escorting. Going out onto the pitch made a tremendous impression on the children. The players handled the situation brilliantly: along the way, they showed the boys how they greet the pitch and talked with their young “colleagues”.
The coaches selected the 25 escorts Football Academy Bolesławiec based on the boys’ performance and behaviour during training. The group consisted of:
Kacper Gzubicki, Dominik Twardowski, Kacper Gałka, Kaziu Wieczorkowski, Igor Gorski, Patryk Zarzycki, Dawid Ziembikiewicz, Adam Góralczyk, Jasiu Reguła, Igor Wójcik, Dominik Sura, Kacper Doliński, Dawid Łanoszka, Filip Samsonowicz, Kacper Rykowski, Wojtek Dienstbier, Kuba Czyżewski, Leon Kurczewski, Konrad Gozdek, Kacper Hajduczek, Bartek Kowal, Maciek Rutyna, Kamil Kaziuk, Marcel Sas and Cyprian Polak.
Everything was made possible by our local cooperation with Zagłębie Lubin and the club’s goodwill. We would like to thank the club for giving the boys this wonderful opportunity. The boys will certainly remember this evening and their experiences for a long time. What happened will undoubtedly also be a wonderful motivation for them to keep training. We would also like to thank the parents, who were very willing to attend the match in such large numbers. The evening was rounded off by Zagłębie’s victory: the team met the fans’ expectations and defeated Korona 2:1.
