In December last year, we reported that Rafał Ryżewski, a student of the Janusz Korczak II General Secondary School in Bolesławiec and a scholarship holder of the Prime Minister, won the district stage of the Healthy Lifestyle Promotion Olympiad, organised by the Polish Red Cross.

The third-year student of II LO advanced to the regional stage. The contestants had to demonstrate knowledge of health, addictions and first-aid principles, as well as prepare a multimedia presentation. Rafał took fourth place in Lower Silesia.

Meanwhile, Klaudia Frączek proved to be the best in the district qualifiers of the National Fire Safety Knowledge Tournament. The student will represent the school and the district in the regional stage, which will take place at the end of April in Książ. Both laureates were prepared for the competitions by Mieczysław Szwed, a teacher of national defence preparation and civic education.
