On Saturday (6 April) in Legnica, BKS Bobrzanie’s senior team played their third-round match in the Regional Polish Cup. The Bolesławiec team’s opponents were Olimpia Kowary. The match ended in a 2–4 (1–3) defeat for our team. In the 4th minute of the match, the score was already 1–1. First, Maciej Udod of Olimpia converted a penalty after Jacek Bochnia handled the ball, and shortly afterwards Damian Kamuda equalised. In the 14th minute, Kowary took a 2–1 lead. Udod scored again. The goal came after an error by Józek Pietrzak, who slipped and failed to control the ball. Bolesławiec conceded their third goal in the 43rd minute, again from a penalty taken by Maciej Udod.
After the break, two more goals were scored. In the 68th minute, Paweł Żmudziński scored BKS’s second goal with a shot into the top corner. Olimpia scored the final goal of the match in the 71st minute. Sebastian Szujewski put his name on the scoresheet. BKS Bobrzanie – Olimpia Kowary 2–4 (1–3).
The match was closely contested until the very end. BKS were not inferior football-wise to their opponents from the fourth tier and did not give up without a fight. However, the absence of key players from the BKS squad and somewhat unlucky penalties decided the outcome. Wojtek Glanc and Paweł Glanc were unable to play because of a family tragedy. Injuries ruled Emmanuel Ohagwu and Radosław Powroźnik out of the match. Michał Błoński was also absent because he is undergoing military training in Zegrze. Marcin Jankowski was unavailable as well. Two BKS youth players, Mariusz Wakulski and Daniel Ziółkowski, made their cup debuts. Next weekend, BKS will face Jawa Otok at home. In the previous round, Jawa won 3–1 at home. Bolesławiec will be looking to get their revenge.
BKS: Kowalski – Pietrzak, Bryłkowski, Mastalerz, Bochnia, Mielnik (46' Paluchowicz), Żmudziński (82' Wakulski), Janicki, Kliwak, Kraśnicki, Kamuda (85' Ziółkowski).
