The incident occurred on Saturday, 23 March, at one of the scrap metal yards in Bolesławiec. We have established that a company employee was cutting open a barrel that had contained a probably petroleum-derived substance. According to initial findings, its vapors caught fire, causing an explosion in which the man suffered injuries to his arm and leg. The injured man was taken to hospital. The causes of the accident are being investigated by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec.
