The Bolesławiec County provides care for more than 200 children in foster families. This intimate form of care, which more closely resembles a family environment, is recommended by educators and psychologists. Studies clearly show that in a smaller and more integrated environment, emotional bonds and valuable relationships develop, compensating for the hardships of a difficult childhood.

– Numerous examples from Bolesławiec County confirm this. Such experiences have made the trend clear. We strive to provide children with a real family. Without a doubt, it is the best thing we can do for them – says starosta Cezary Przybylski.

Bolesławiec County wants to interest good and compassionate people in foster parenthood. To this end, the local government is conducting the information and promotional campaign “I’m Waiting for You, Mom!”. The County Family Support Centre has announced another recruitment drive for training candidates wishing to become non-professional or professional foster families or run a family children’s home. What is more, in late spring, a festival promoting foster parenthood will be held under the slogan “I’m Looking for a Mom and Dad”. More information can be found on the Bolesławiec County website.
