“The social economy of associations as an opportunity for developing local communities” is a project run by the Zielona Akcja Ecological Foundation. Its aim is to increase the economic and social activity of rural associations. As part of the project, during a study visit to themed villages, the Active Women from Lipiany were able to see how this works in practice. The women also completed a training course entitled “Educator of the natural and cultural heritage of the village,” which was intended to familiarize them with the process of creating an offer for a themed village, particularly conducting nature and culture activities for organized groups and tourists, and preparing participants to present the resources of their locality in a new and attractive form of games and activities.

The project also included members of rural associations and residents of the villages of Borówki, Pasternik and Motyle, who are likewise interested in revitalizing their localities. We hope that the project will contribute to the establishment of themed villages in Bolesławiec County soon, bringing local communities together around issues connected with a particular product, service or the culture of our region. The program is a pilot initiative intended to help selected localities in Lower Silesia create an offer and generate income from their village resources.
