A 17-year-old passenger in a car driven by an intoxicated 18-year-old died in an accident he caused. The incident occurred overnight from Monday to Tuesday in Chojnów, the spokesperson for the Legnica municipal police headquarters reported.
At around 1 a.m., the car entered a ditch and hit an embankment with such force that the passenger, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown through the windscreen. The girl died at the scene. The young driver, who had no driving licence or vehicle documents, was injured. He was taken to a hospital in Legnica with a head injury. The boy had a blood alcohol level of 1.40 per mille.
