The fourth edition of “A Stroll with the Orchestra” has come to an end. About 150 runners, including 37 women, took part in the competition held on Saturday, January 12, in Iwiny (Warta Bolesławiecka municipality). The organizers of “A Stroll...” charged an entry fee, thanks to which nearly PLN 1,200 was transferred to the account of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity headquarters in Warta.

The event was held as part of the Running Grand Prix of the Copper Basin. In the main race (5.6 km), the winner was Adrian Warzocha, a Sokół Lubin athlete, with a time of 19:19. Maciej Dawidziuk (OLAWS Złotoryja) came second, and Marcin Pawłowski was third.

Among the women, the winner was Weronika Cych, representing Śląsk Wrocław (24:16). Małgorzata Szeliga took second place, and Angelika Haniszewska was third (both represent Tukan Iwiny).

The special guest of the competition was Adam Draczyński, one of Poland’s top long-distance runners and the 2008 military world marathon champion.

Young athletes competed over a distance of 1 kilometer. In the under-12 category, the best performers were Staś Pachnik and Ola Pulda (both from Tukan Iwiny). Among the younger juniors, who ran 3 km, the clear winners were Dawid Macura (OLAWS Złotoryja) and Agnieszka Cych (Echo Twardogóra).

After the race, the third stage of the Karkonosze-Kaczawa Orienteering League took place. It is a series of races organized by UKS “Tukan” Iwiny and MKS “Paulinum” Jelenia Góra.
