The Volunteer Centre was established to support the existing work of social workers through volunteers, cooperate with them in carrying out MOPS’s mission, create a local network of interpersonal ties and overcome the stereotype that social welfare is only about “giving away money”.
The Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Bolesławiec intends to involve people from various backgrounds in volunteer activities and engage volunteers in efforts benefiting people who are unable to cope with the reality around them, thereby promoting civic attitudes. The activities undertaken will aim to minimise or resolve social problems through the involvement of people of goodwill.
The coordinator of the Volunteer Centre is Beata Kołodziej. Anyone interested in cooperation can contact the Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Bolesławiec (7 Cicha Street; Beata Kołodziej, room 6; Iwona Marcinkiewicz – room 4) between 8:00 and 10:00, and every Tuesday and Thursday also from 14:00 to 15:00.
