The National Education Day ceremony is behind us. The event took place on Friday, October 12, in the auditorium of the Janusz Korczak II General Secondary School in Bolesławiec. Mirosław Sakowski, the school principal, spoke. “In modern Poland, October 14 is the day on which we thank teachers for their work,” he said. “Thank you for your understanding and patience, for your kindness and warmth toward students. And for being creative, imaginative, full of ideas and interesting initiatives.”
Nine teachers received awards from the II LO principal: Anna Bowszys, Izabella Daniel, Edyta Gawlik-Lippik, Ewelina Kałużna, Dorota Kurowska, Barbara Sykulska, Piotr Napiórkowski, Marcin Ostrowski and Krzysztof Wolski. Teacher Joanna Turczyńska will receive the Bolesławiec County Board Award.
Mirosław Sakowski also thanked representatives of the Parents’ Council, including Robert Sapeta, the council’s head, and deputy chairwoman Renata Czerwińska.
“The heart swells when we hear how the students react to your awards,” Robert Sapeta told the II LO teachers. “This means that you have a very good relationship with your students and that these young people like you very much.”
The ceremony concluded with an artistic program prepared by teacher Mieczysław Szweda and the school’s students.
