In a statement issued last week on the situation in Bolesławiec’s healthcare services, the SLD County Council criticized the policies of the current and previous county authorities. According to the SLD, the coalitions governing the county since 1998 bear responsibility for the condition of the Bolesławiec ZOZ, including the hospital’s PLN 30 million debt.

"Residents of the county are seeking help outside its borders. The hospital lacks medicines and money for basic procedures," says Kazimierz Sas, Chairman of the SLD County Council in Bolesławiec. "It is incomprehensible that, in such a situation, the starosta and the executive board received a discharge from the county council," Kazimierz Sas says indignantly. The SLD County Council appealed to all affiliated and unaffiliated individuals to stand up in defense of the hospital and to hold those responsible for the catastrophic situation of the Bolesławiec ZOZ accountable.

The second issue raised by the SLD was the proposed change in the location of Preschool No. 7. According to Stanisław Szypulski, secretary of the SLD County Council and a City Council member, the decision to move Preschool No. 7 was late and made without public consultation. "The preschool’s situation had been known for a long time. So why recruit children for two preschools at the same time, only to maintain two directors, two accounting departments, and so on now?" asks Stanisław Szypulski. According to the SLD secretary, city councillors should revoke the resolution on this matter and resolve the issue of Preschool No. 7 in another way.
