Both incidents occurred on Tuesday, 10 July. The first took place on the road between Iwiny and Warta Bolesławiecka. On a straight section of road, a motorcyclist collided with a moped rider. The motorcycle driver was injured in the accident. He was taken to the hospital in Bolesławiec.
According to police findings, the motorcyclist caused the accident by improperly passing the moped rider. The moped rider claims that he was attempting to make a U-turn on the road and, while he was still in his lane, was hit by the fast-moving motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was fined.
The second incident occurred near the turn-off to Żeliszów, on the road from Bolesławiec to Lwówek Śląski. Four cars collided there. The course of events was as follows: A Ford Transit struck the rear of a Volkswagen Golf that was turning left. As a result of the collision, the Golf ended up in the opposite lane. Another collision occurred there. The Volkswagen collided with a Citroen. In addition, an Audi car hit the rear of the stationary Ford. Three people, including an infant, were taken to hospital as a result of the collision.
