The older children from the Non-Public Kindergarten in Łaziska visited the premises of the Mechanical School Complex in Bolesławiec on Tuesday, 26 June. The youngsters were able to see with their own eyes how robots built from Lego bricks and mechatronic devices work. “We were received very hospitably,” says Joanna Kosior, who runs the Kindergarten in Łaziska together with Jadwiga Durtka.

“We have been organising this type of meeting for many years,” emphasises Piotr Księżyk, the leader for the implementation of vocational education reform and school promotion at Bolesławiec’s ZSM. “Previously, primary- and middle-school students took part in them. This year, we also proposed cooperation to kindergartens.”

For the first time, the preschoolers had the opportunity to see automatically operating production lines and industrial robots, as well as to try their hand at a driving simulator. “Our main aim is to interest the residents of our county in technology from the youngest age,” Księżyk points out.

The children from Łaziska also liked the interactive whiteboard and the machine for moving bricks. Many of them would like to build robots themselves in the future.

In April, students from the branch of Municipal Public Kindergarten No. 3, together with their caregiver Iwona Witczak, visited the premises of the Mechanical School Complex in Bolesławiec. The visit took place as part of the “Land of Children in Europe – bis” programme.
