Instead of asphalt, there are concrete paving blocks. Instead of level entrances, there are high kerbs. Instead of designing new routes, sections of pavements are simply set aside. This is what bicycle paths look like in Bolesławiec. In addition, every so often a road sign or a bollard is placed in the middle of a path. Completely pointless.

It is difficult to say whether this is the officials’ and councillors’ lack of imagination or simply their laziness. Neither group reacts to them, the signs remain in place, and the paths do not make it any easier to get around the city. We will see whether Jarosław Kowalski, chairman of the Infrastructure, Spatial Planning and Construction Committee, will raise this issue at the next session...
