The Family Festival took place on 13 May on the square in front of the Community House in Golnice. One of the attractions was the Race for the Village Head’s Cup. Sebastian Szaro from Golnice won the competition.
Young female singers from Mierzwin performed on stage: Dominika and Martyna Czubak, Żaneta Matyjewicz, Magda Wilk, Klaudia Kotwica, Ada Zeszutek, Paulina Matyjewicz, Natalia Horbacz and Ola Matyjewicz, who train under instructor Bronisław Górecki. Also performing were Nina Wąsik, a resident of Golnice, Jakub Kulpa from Kruszyn, who sang “Tolerancja” from the repertoire of Stanisław Soyka, and the students of Agnieszka Orawiec: Karolina Makowska, Weronika Kulpa, Karolina Stefaniak, Agnieszka Klementowska and Milena Gajewska.
There was no shortage of sporting excitement either. A Poland–Greece football match was played. The game ended with a 2–0 victory for the White and Reds.
Folklore enthusiasts had no reason to complain either. That day, the Singing Ensemble from Ocice and the National Dance Club, operating at the Zespół Pieśni i Tańca Ziemi Bolesławieckiej, performed.
Residents of our county celebrated until dawn. The event was organized by the Village Council and the Housewives’ Circle in Golnice, as well as the Municipal Culture and Sports Centre in Bolesławiec, based in Kruszyn.
