On Monday, a meeting of the Association of Combatants and Former Political Prisoners of the Bolesławiec Region was held. The participants elected the association’s new leadership. Lieutenant Colonel Antoni Świerzewski became the new president. He replaced Colonel Włodzimierz Kowalski in the position.
The delegates heard a report on the outgoing board’s activities and applauded to thank President Kowalski for many years of service. During the ceremony, three veteran decorations “For Merit to the Association of Combatants and Former Political Prisoners” were also presented: to Sylwia Nowak, Head of the Organizational Department of the District Office, and to veterans Tadeusz Michalczuk and Bronisław Śliczny.
The District Office helped organize the meeting. Soldiers from the Bolesławiec military unit prepared a hot meal for the veterans.
