In February, representatives of the Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych in Bolesławiec met with representatives of the Zgorzelec-based company Kopex-Famago, a leader in the mining machinery and equipment market. During the meeting, the principles of cooperation were established concerning the organization of vocational training for the school’s students, as well as recruitment to classes training students in the following professions: fitter with welder qualifications, and machine-tool operator specializing in CNC machine tools.
The Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych in Bolesławiec, which already cooperates with the Faculty of Mechanical and Energy Engineering of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, is seeking to establish trilateral cooperation: school – workplace – university. This will give the Zgorzelec-based company the opportunity to propose topics for students to address in project work.
The company will give students the opportunity to become familiar with standards and technical documentation; it will show them how to use standards and what a properly planned technological process looks like. ZSM students will also be able to participate in a series of lectures conducted by welding specialists (on welding), designers (on project work), and technologists (on manufacturing technology) employed by Kopex-Famago. All this is intended to ensure that, in addition to textbook theory, young people also gain contact with the workshop of a large manufacturing plant.
Kopex-Famago Sp. z o.o. also plans to establish a scholarship for students in the patronage class. The cooperation is intended to enable young people who are just entering the labor market to consciously plan their future professional careers.
