On 25 February, children and young people from the TOP Bolesławiec Swimming Section, along with three children from the “ORKA” swimming school, took part in the “For a Child’s Smile” swimming league in Zgorzelec. It was the first of four events planned for this school year.
In the 2003 and younger category, Adrianna Burdzy (2003) won, Wiktoria Młodzińska (2004) came fourth, and Jadzia Węglicka (2004) fifth. In the 2001–2002 category, Dominika Kwinta came fifth, Julita Węglicka seventh, Maja Lesiak ninth, and Wiktoria Tomczyk twelfth. In the 1999–2000 category, Agata Knapik took fourth place, Iza Tkaczyk fifth, and Klaudia Petters eighth.
Among the boys in the 2001–2002 age category, Hubert Parzyński came second, Michał Szkirpan eighth, Adam Stypczyc fourteenth, and Jakub Kociełuch fifteenth. In the 1999–2000 category, Marek Musiał came fourteenth, while Krzysiu Pachołek came sixteenth.
In the 1996–1998 age category, Karolina Mielnik took second place, while among the boys Jonasz Szkirpan came first, Jakub Kalinowski third, Filip Przyłucki fourth, and Dawid Juszczyk fifth. Competing outside the official classification, Piotr Cebrowski achieved an excellent time, like everyone else.
The competition brought together 120 athletes from Svida Świdnica, PatomSwim Bogatynia, TOP Bolesławiec, Dłużyna, Sulików, Görlitz, Primary School No. 1 in Łagów, Primary Schools Nos. 2, 3 and 5 in Zgorzelec, and UKS Energetyk Zgorzelec.
The following day, seven children from the TOP Swimming Section took part in the “Looking Forward to Spring” National Swimming Competition, organised by the Zielona Góra District Swimming Association. Every participating athlete achieved results better than their previous ones—fourteen personal bests.
Agata Knapik came second, while Iza Tkaczyk came third in the 100 m butterfly. Agata also took third place in the 100 m freestyle.
Everyone who competed deserves praise, especially the youngest participant—Wiktoria Młodzińska, who swam the 100 m freestyle and backstroke wonderfully for the first time in her life.
The others—Julita Węglicka, Małgorzata Rzeszowska, Hubert Parzyński and Michał Szkirpan—also showed plenty of fighting spirit. They took fifth, seventh and eighth places.
More than 100 athletes took part in the competition, representing Piranie Lubin, TOP Bolesławiec, Rekin Świebodzice, Śląsk Wrocław, Wankan Legnica, Marlin 7 Lubin and Korner Zielona Góra.
