Teatr Polski will appear at the 14th Oblicza Teatru Festival as part of the Polkowice Theatre Days. Taking advantage of this occasion, BOK-MCC invited the actors to perform at Forum. The production was directed by Adam Opatowicz, the set design was created by Mariusz Napierała, the music was composed by Andrzej Mikosz “Weber”, and the song lyrics were written by Adam Zieliński “Łona”.
The play begins at night at the titular ball, where tailor’s and shop-window mannequins, forgetting the stillness that accompanies them every day, lose themselves in dance. This intoxicating celebration is interrupted by the arrival of a female mannequin, followed by a man who is convinced that he is following a beautiful woman. Another mannequin recognizes him as a deputy and leader of one of the parties. This is the starting point of a play that in fact proves to be a metaphorical story revealing the mechanisms of power and the path leading toward revolution.
The play will be performed at Forum cinema on Thursday, 29 March, at 7:00 p.m.
