Last year, the municipality applied for European Union funding to establish and mark cycling routes around Bolesławiec. The funds were granted, and this year a system of marked routes is ready. The total cost of the project amounted to EUR 29,600, of which 74% came from Phare funds. The project involved establishing and describing the routes of 206 km of cycling trails, taking into account tourist attractions, accommodation facilities, points of interest and natural monuments, as well as producing and installing 10 information boards. In addition to our town, six municipalities and the district authority participated in the project.

The shortest and easiest of the designated routes is the Lower Silesian Forests route. The other routes are the south-western route reaching Nowogrodziec, the southern route running through Suszki and Wartowice, and the longest, south-eastern route reaching Grodziec. From this week, maps are available at the Tourist Information Point at 80 Sierpnia Street. The routes can also be viewed on the website.
