Despite the drizzle, many people came to the Bóbr riverside boulevard. Residents of Bolesławiec could watch the 2nd Euroregional Equestrian Show Jumping Competition. They could also watch the strongmen’s contests.
Cowboy and Native American skill games, archery, horseshoe and hat throwing, and paintball were just some of the attractions prepared for children.
It is worth mentioning that food and drink prices—unlike the Sunday prices in Kliczków—were at a normal level. The organizer of Tuesday’s May Day celebration was the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre, while Boleslawiec.org was among the event’s patrons. The event was co-financed by the European Union.
Readers’ opinions
These Bolesławiec strongmen are great, but it’s a shame there were so few participants. Maybe someone will come up with the idea of organizing such competitions individually—there would certainly be more competitors. It’s a shame there were no genuinely strength-based events, in which a competitor could really show what they are capable of, instead of merely tiring themselves out with a ridiculous weight, such as a log. Kudos to the organizers.
