Archaeologists recovered nearly 4,000 fragments of ceramics from the ground. A preliminary analysis dates the vessels to the 15th century. Everything therefore indicates that researchers from the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec have found the remains of the oldest pottery workshop in Bolesławiec discovered to date.

The city chronicles contain information about the existence of five pottery workshops in 16th-century Bolesławiec—one within the so-called Upper Suburb and four located in the Lower Suburb. In 2007, archaeologists from the Museum of Ceramics discovered a pottery workshop on Piaskowa Street (Lower Suburb). The latest research conducted on Asnyka Street confirmed the location of the second of the city’s five medieval pottery workshops, and the only one in the Upper Suburb.

The discoveries made by Bolesławiec’s archaeologists provide further evidence that Bolesławiec’s ceramic traditions date back to the Middle Ages.
