Friday’s match, played as part of the third round of the Regional Polish Cup, ended in a shock result. BKS lost to the local LZS side in Brzeźnik and were eliminated from the cup competition. The Bolesławiec team played one of their weakest matches of the season. The uneven pitch did not make things easier, but both teams played in the same conditions. In the 7th minute, the hosts took the lead following an error by the Bolesławiec defense and an uncertain intervention by the goalkeeper, who punched the ball straight to the feet of a home player. Sylwester Drozd made no mistake, making it 1:0 to Brzeźnik. In the 12th minute, it was already 2:0. Drozd scored again, with the defenders and goalkeeper once again making mistakes.
There were no more goals in the match. The Bolesławiec players tried to make up the deficit, but their play contained too many inaccuracies. Rober Kumoś, Mateusz Mucha and Paweł Żmudziński were among those who shot at the hosts’ goal, but their efforts were either off target or too weak to threaten the home side’s goal. BKS lost to a lower-ranked opponent in disastrous style and were eliminated from the rest of the cup competition.
