The incident took place on the night of September 26–27 outside one of the venues in Lubin. Police received a report about a fight involving more than a dozen people. The information also indicated that a dangerous tool—a knife—may have been used during the brawl.
Police officers from various departments of the Lubin police headquarters were sent to the scene. The officers began identifying those involved and establishing the detailed course of the brawl. A total of 12 people were detained in connection with the case.
Two 20-year-olds seriously injured
Two 20-year-old men suffered serious bodily injuries. The victims were taken to hospitals in Lubin and Legnica, where they underwent surgery. The injuries they sustained posed a real threat to their lives and health.
The man suspected of causing serious injury to both 20-year-olds fled the scene. Officers quickly identified the vehicle he may have been traveling in and then located the car.
The 18-year-old was detained by police officers.
Teenager charged and remanded in custody
The evidence collected allowed prosecutors to charge the Lubin resident under Articles 156 and 159 of the Criminal Code. At the prosecutor’s request, the court ordered two months of pre-trial detention for the 18-year-old.
Police emphasize that investigative activities in the case are still ongoing. Under the supervision of the prosecutor, officers are thoroughly investigating the course of the nighttime brawl and the involvement of the individual participants.
During the proceedings, officers also verified information about the possible use of a weapon. The actions carried out did not confirm that a firearm had been used during the incident.
The teenager faces a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
