More significant changes to train services in Lower Silesia will take effect at the end of the year, together with the new 2026/2027 timetable. Among the new features will be:

  • The Legnica – Cottbus connection, which will significantly improve travel between Wrocław and Berlin,
  • Modern trains operating on the Wrocław Główny – Ostrów Wielkopolski route via Twardogóra and Międzybórz.

More trains will run from Wrocław to Szklarska Poręba and Kudowa-Zdrój. This is thanks to work by Polskie Linie Kolejowe, which will be carried out on Lower Silesian railway routes as part of the latest adjustment.

Due to work on railway lines, replacement buses from Monday, August 31 will operate on the following routes:

  • Jelenia Góra – Szklarska Poręba;
  • Jelenia Góra – Rybnica (the Jelenia Góra – Lubań and Jelenia Góra – Zgorzelec routes).

In the case of both closures mentioned above, work will continue until October 30.

Renovation work is still ongoing on the section:

  • Polanica-Zdrój – Kudowa-Zdrój.

From Sunday, August 30, this section will be served by replacement buses:

  • Dzierżoniów – Kamieniec Ząbkowicki.

Replacement buses will operate on this section until December 12.

For the last of the sections listed, replacement buses will operate in two variants:

  • Serving the entire section between Dzierżoniów and Kamieniec Ząbkowicki;
  • Additional connections on the Ząbkowice Śląskie – Kamieniec Ząbkowicki route, coordinated in both directions with trains at Kamieniec Ząbkowicki station.

The result of this work will nevertheless be a greater number of connection pairs, as in the case of Szklarska Poręba and Kudowa-Zdrój, as well as shorter travel times on the Podsudecka Main Line.

Between September 6 and 13, there will also be a closure on the section:

  • Dzierżoniów – Bielawa Góry Sowie.

This is caused by work being carried out on the Bielawa – Srebrna Góra section, involving the reconstruction of another railway line in Lower Silesia that had been closed to traffic for several decades. The work is being commissioned by the Marshal’s Office and carried out by Dolnośląska Służba Dróg i Kolei.

In the coming weeks, travel time will also increase on the section from Wrocław toward Milicz and Krotoszyn — all Koleje Dolnośląskie trains will travel as far as Oleśnica station. This is due to work by Polskie Linie Kolejowe on the track between Długołęka and Oleśnica Rataje stop.

Additionally, work will be carried out at night on the section:

  • Legnica – Rudna Gwizdanów.

This concerns only the first connections (around 5 a.m.) and the last connections (after 10 p.m.) operated on lines D11 and D12. These changes will apply between September 1 and 6. Similar disruptions may also occur around the turn of September and October, likewise over several days.

If you are planning to travel on this line at night, it is worth checking whether part of the connection will be operated by a replacement bus.

The final location where replacement buses will operate after the timetable adjustment is the section:

  • Zgorzelec – Goerlitz.

On the German side, work related to electrifying this section will be under way. Replacement buses will cross the border from September 3 to October 14.

“In September, pupils return to school, and in October, students return to university. We ask all passengers travelling on Koleje Dolnośląskie trains to check, before setting out for their usual morning connection, what time their train departs,” says Bartłomiej Rodak, press spokesperson for Koleje Dolnośląskie.

The departure time of many trains may change by several minutes. The final timetable adjustment of the year will take place in October. From mid-December, trains will operate according to the new schedule.
