The incident occurred on Thursday, September 24, in the late morning, in Kraśnik. Police officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters were carrying out activities there related to information about items that could have come from a theft.
During procedural activities carried out on the property, a 33-year-old man returned to the scene. He fired two shots from a firearm at one of the officers.
The police officer was wounded in the head. The perpetrator fled. Officers began a pursuit, during which the 33-year-old was detained.
The wounded police officer was transported by helicopter operated by the Polish Medical Air Rescue Service to a hospital.
The investigation concerns attempted murder and an active assault on a police officer.
Today, around noon, the detained man was brought to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec. Further procedural activities related to the case will be carried out there.
