The incident occurred on Thursday, September 24, during the morning hours in Kraśnik. Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec were carrying out activities related to information about items that may have originated from a theft.

During procedural activities being carried out on the property, a 33-year-old man returned home. He allegedly fired two shots from a firearm at one of the officers.

The police officer was wounded in the head. After firing the shots, the man allegedly began to flee. He was arrested during a pursuit.

The officer was taken to hospital by an LPR helicopter.

Investigators are conducting proceedings in the direction of attempted murder and an active assault on a police officer.

Situation in Kraśnik

Restrictions remain in place at the scene. Roads leading to the property have been blocked, and the area is secured by police.

Residents of nearby properties can reach them on foot, while vehicle traffic is restricted.

Unofficial reports say that four sounds resembling gunshots were heard in Kraśnik. There are also reports that the police officer is in serious condition. Investigators have not confirmed this so far.
