On Thursday, September 24, during an operation conducted by police officers from Bolesławiec, one of the officers was shot. Police confirmed that the officers also fired shots, and the man suspected of property theft was arrested.
The incident occurred at around 11 a.m. in Kraśnik. Police officers were carrying out operational activities there involving a person suspected of property theft.
At one point, firearms were used. One of the police officers was shot. As stated by Asp. Staff Łukasz Dutkowiak, spokesperson for the Commander of the Lower Silesian Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław, the officers also fired shots during the operation.
The suspect was not injured and was arrested.
The injured police officer was transported to hospital by an air ambulance helicopter.
A prosecutor is working at the scene
Following the incident, activities began at the scene to establish the exact course of the intervention. A prosecutor is taking part in them.
At this stage, police have not provided detailed information concerning, among other things, the type of injuries sustained by the officer, the circumstances in which the shots were fired, or the exact course of the incident itself.
