The small number of fans, the lack of benches and the absence of advertising boards indicated that this was the match in which TOP was saying goodbye to the second division. Despite this, the Bolesławiec team started the first set ambitiously. They maintained a lead of several points until scoring their seventeenth point. Then the visitors took control, and the score changed from 17–13 for TOP to 21–17 for Maraton. The first set ended with a 19–25 defeat for the Bolesławiec team. In the second set, TOP easily defeated Maraton 25–19.

The home team again started well in the third set. TOP’s lead lasted until the tenth point. However, Maraton levelled the score and won 25–18. At that point, the scoreboard showed a 2–1 lead for the visitors. In the fourth and decisive set, the TOP volleyball players made mistakes increasingly often. Once again, errors from earlier matches made themselves felt: a lack of coordination, crossing the centre line and difficulties with setting up attacks precisely. TOP lost the final set 20–25 and the entire match 1–3.

Saturday’s match, played in Bolesławiec, was the last of three scheduled games in the fight for seventh place and the opportunity to continue competing to remain in the second division. Unfortunately, the Bolesławiec team lost all three matches. TOP lost the first two, played in Świnoujście, 0–3. On Saturday, they fell to Maraton 1–3. This means that it was not TOP Bolesławiec but Maraton Świnoujście that advanced to the next round in the fight to remain in the second division.
