A vehicle check was carried out on one of the streets in Bolesławiec. Officers from the Traffic Division stopped a passenger car driven by a 33-year-old resident of Nowogrodziec municipality.
When checking the driver's details in police systems, the officers established that the man should not be driving a car at all.
He was subject to as many as three court-ordered driving bans. Two had been issued by the District Court in Bolesławiec, and the third by the District Court in Jelenia Góra.
That was not all, however. A decision had also been issued against the 33-year-old to revoke his driving licence.
The car also had problems
The inspection also revealed that the car the man was driving did not have a valid technical inspection.
The vehicle registration certificate had previously been seized by police officers.
Despite the previous court and administrative decisions, the 33-year-old once again decided to get behind the wheel.
8 months in prison and a lifetime ban
In connection with the offence, the man was detained. His case was heard under an expedited procedure.
The court sentenced the 33-year-old resident of Nowogrodziec municipality to eight months of unconditional imprisonment.
That was not the only consequence. The court also imposed a lifetime ban on driving all motor vehicles. (The earlier bans imposed on the man had been temporary.)
In addition, the 33-year-old was ordered to pay PLN 10,000 to the Fund for Assistance to Victims and Post-Penitentiary Assistance.
