At Gospoda Kruszyna, at a richly laid table, we presented prizes to the participants of our online competition. The cookbooks featuring regional recipes went to Monika Brzuszkiewicz and Kamil Błoniarz. The other winners (Przemysław Górski, Anna Potoczniak, Malwina Krajniak and Marek Czaplicki) could not attend the meeting, but they will of course receive their prizes.
To mark the prize-giving, we were able to try two dishes from the book. Lunch was provided by the head of Gospoda Kruszyna, Leopold Habiniak. We tried beef goulash with sweet pepper served in a bread dish, as well as pumpkin pita.
The cookbook is an excellent promotion of the tasty places in the Bory region where visitors can eat well. The proposed recipes are prepared by local restaurateurs.
“To encourage people to come here, we try to show what is most attractive,” says Dariusz Kwaśniewski, the project coordinator. “We concluded that the cuisine is also a reason to fall in love with this place. The people who live in Pieńsk, Zgorzelec, Bolesławiec and Węgliniec come from many parts of Europe. This can be seen in many of the submitted recipes. They include elements of Balkan, Lithuanian and Greek cuisine,” Kwaśniewski emphasizes.
Competition
In the next competition, we have 15 sets to give away, each consisting of a cookbook, four thematic brochures (on architecture, natural features, multiculturalism and active recreation in the Bory region) and two maps (trails and attractions of the Bory region).
The competition has been decided.
