District police officers from the Legnica police headquarters noticed a gardening tent located on an allotment site in Spalona. It was used primarily to grow vegetables and other plants. However, it turned out that cannabis plants were growing next to the tomatoes as well.
As a result, officers detained a 22-year-old resident of Kunice Municipality. The man was taken to the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica. Procedural activities are ongoing.
The police secured the plants they found. The collected evidence will undergo further analysis, which is intended to determine the scope of the detainee’s responsibility.
The 22-year-old is expected to hear charges concerning the illegal cultivation of cannabis soon.
The police remind the public that cultivating cannabis other than fibrous hemp without the required permit is prohibited and may result in criminal liability.
