A serious accident in Jawor. On Thursday, September 17, 2026, at approximately 12:00 p.m., emergency services received a report about a truck that had crashed into a building on Mickiewicza Street.
The vehicle's cab was severely deformed, trapping the driver inside.
Firefighters began freeing the injured driver using specialized hydraulic equipment. The operation lasted approximately an hour.
After being removed from the cab, the driver was evacuated outside and then transported to a hospital. An air ambulance helicopter, Ratownik 13 from Wrocław, also landed at the scene.
The impact also damaged the building's structure. For this reason, the damaged building must be secured and stabilized before the truck can be removed.
Three specialized rescue groups are working at the scene: the Specialized Technical Rescue Group from Wrocław, the Specialized Technical Rescue Group from Bolesławiec, and the Specialized Search and Rescue Group from Wałbrzych.
Rescuers are also checking the building for the presence of other people. The vehicle can be removed only after these activities are completed and the structure is properly secured.
All of Mickiewicza Street in Jawor has been closed to traffic. Emergency operations are still underway.
