The Bolesławiec Municipal Police published a statement concerning the appearance and safety of public spaces in Bolesławiec:
👮👮♂️🌸Together we are creating our Bolesławiec🌸🏡
The appearance and orderliness of our public spaces depend on each of us.
The everyday actions of residents and property managers determine whether our Bolesławiec is clean, attractive and safe.
The officers draw attention, among other things, to vegetation located alongside pavements. Trimming trees and shrubs protruding into pedestrian routes is intended to allow pedestrians to move freely. Municipal Police:
Trimming trees and shrubs that protrude onto the pavement allows pedestrians to move freely.
The statement also highlighted the importance of road-sign visibility. “Trimming trees and shrubs that obscure road signs, as well as promptly repairing damaged road signs, ensures that drivers behave appropriately on the road and provides safety in road traffic,” we read.
The Municipal Police also draws attention to issues related to the appearance of public spaces. The main concerns are pseudo-graffiti and accumulated waste.
Prompt removal of graffiti and accumulated waste provides us with an attractive public space.
The officers thank those who respond promptly to identified problems. At the same time, they point out that not all owners and managers respond equally quickly to reports:
Thank you to everyone who demonstrates responsibility and commitment, responds immediately to all irregularities, and fully understands how important the attractive appearance of our surroundings is. Your exemplary attitude deserves recognition and serves as an example for those who downplay such reports; unfortunately, some owners/managers demonstrate this attitude.
“Let us start with ourselves today”
The Municipal Police encourage residents to inspect their properties as well. Particular attention should be paid to trees and shrubs that may pose a hazard to pedestrians or vehicles.
“Let us start with ourselves today: check whether a tree or shrub on your property poses a hazard to pedestrian or vehicle traffic and remove that hazard; remove or paint over graffiti that disfigures public spaces,” the officers appeal.
The Municipal Police remind residents that identified irregularities can be reported to the duty officer of the Bolesławiec Municipal Police. “Small gestures have great power,” the officers conclude.
