The 50-year-old Georgian citizen was detained on Sunday morning in the Warta Bolesławiecka municipality. Officers from the Bolesławiec traffic police stopped the driver and checked his sobriety.
The test showed 0.7 promille of alcohol in his system. The man was detained.
However, that was not the end of the matter. The very next day, the 50-year-old was brought by officers from the Police Station in Kruszyn to the District Court in Bolesławiec.
The proceedings were conducted under an expedited procedure. The court issued a verdict and, among other measures, imposed a three-year ban on the foreign national driving any motor vehicles. The Georgian citizen was also ordered to pay PLN 5,000 to the Fund for Assistance to Victims and Post-Penitentiary Assistance.
Moreover, the man was brought to the Border Guard facility in Zgorzelec. An application was submitted for a decision obliging the foreign national to leave the territory of Poland.
