The case dates back to 2021. At that time, in Bolesławiec County, the 36-year-old committed property-related crimes, including theft. For the offenses, he was sentenced by the District Court in Bolesławiec to 1 year and 6 months in prison. However, the man failed to report to serve his sentence, so the court issued a wanted notice for him.
Bolesławiec criminal investigators began searching for him. Police established that the man might be staying in his home country. Checking the address provided produced no results, however. Further findings led officers to the United Kingdom.
As a result, the police took steps to initiate an international search. Thanks to cooperation between the services, the 36-year-old was arrested in the United Kingdom and then handed over to the Polish authorities under extradition proceedings.
The man was transported by air from London to Warsaw by officers of the National Police Headquarters. He was then taken to prison, where he will serve his sentence.
