The incident took place on August 21 in Oleszna Podgórska. While patrolling the area, officers from the Gryfów police station noticed a cross motorcycle traveling without a license plate.

The officers decided to stop the rider for a check. They gave him clear signals ordering him to stop, but the man ignored the order and began to flee.

The officers immediately pursued him. The escape did not last long. The rider lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a fence. Fortunately, he was not injured.

The officers determined that the motorcycle was being ridden by a 21-year-old resident of Lubań County. The man did not have the required license to operate the vehicle, and the motorcycle itself was not authorized for road use.

The 21-year-old was arrested and taken to a police cell. Due to the nature of the offense, the officers referred the case to court under expedited proceedings.

The court sentenced the man to six months in prison, suspended for two years.

However, this was not the end of the consequences. The court also imposed a two-year ban on driving all motor vehicles on the 21-year-old. In addition, the man must pay PLN 5,000 to the Fund for the Assistance of Victims and Post-Penitentiary Assistance. He was also placed under probation supervision.

Police remind the public that failing to stop for a traffic check despite an officer ordering the vehicle to stop using light and sound signals is a criminal offense.

Attempting to flee from police can have serious legal consequences, but above all, it endangers the rider, police officers and other road users.
