During a patrol of the Warta Bolesławiecka municipality, police officers from the Police Station in Kruszyn stopped a 45-year-old cyclist for inspection. He was riding on a public road.

The officers checked the man’s sobriety. The test showed 0.6 per mille of alcohol in his system.

The 45-year-old was fined PLN 2,500 for riding a bicycle while intoxicated.

After the police intervention ended, the man did not continue riding his bicycle. He continued on his way while walking and leading the bicycle.

Police remind the public that alcohol and driving any vehicle—including a bicycle—are a dangerous combination. An intoxicated road user has a limited ability to assess situations correctly and may pose a threat both to himself and to other people.

Riding a bicycle after consuming alcohol is an offense, which is why police appeal for common sense and remind people not to get on a bicycle after drinking alcohol.
