A new helipad will be built next to the Emergency Department of St. Łukasz Hospital in Bolesławiec (on the Ślusarska and Zwycięstwa streets side). The investment is primarily intended to improve access to air ambulance services and shorten the patient’s route from the helicopter to the hospital emergency department.
Until now, Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe helicopters landed in various locations in Bolesławiec, after which the patient was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Building a helipad directly next to the Emergency Department will eliminate the need for this additional transport.
Agreement signed – work has begun
On July 1, 2026, a press conference was held at St. Łukasz Hospital, combined with the signing of the agreement for the implementation of the investment. The hospital reported that the project is part of a larger initiative concerning the modernization of the facility’s infrastructure and improving access to emergency medical services.
The completion date has been set for December 15, 2026. This means that if the schedule is maintained, a site where emergency helicopters can land should be ready at the hospital later this year.
The investment will be carried out by the Bolesławiec-based company SINMAG Sp. z o.o. Sp. K.. The value of the awarded contract is PLN 7,350,120.
More than just a helipad
The investment includes more than just the helicopter landing site itself. As reported at the start of the project, the work will also include associated infrastructure, including the access and parking areas. Forty new parking spaces and charging stations for electric vehicles are planned. A new entrance/exit from Ślusarska Street is to be a key element; according to the plans, it will relieve the current car traffic and allow vehicles to be distributed more efficiently throughout the complex.
The new helipad is to be slightly elevated above the surrounding terrain. This solution is used for facilities of this type and is intended to provide suitable conditions for helicopters to use it safely.
