A dangerous incident occurred on Monday, August 3, in Wleń. A meeting between two residents of Lwówek County who were drinking alcohol together ended with one of them being stabbed, the intervention of police officers and paramedics, and the arrest of one of the participants.

Police determined that during the meeting, an argument broke out between the men and quickly turned into a scuffle. According to preliminary findings, a 61-year-old man stabbed his acquaintance, who was half his age.

A police patrol and an emergency medical team were sent to the scene. The paramedics treated the injured 30-year-old and decided to take him to the Regional Hospital Center of the Jelenia Góra Valley.

However, he did not reach the hospital immediately. In Nielestno, the man stated that he did not intend to continue the transport. His behavior forced the ambulance crew to stop the vehicle, after which he left it.

The police were called to the scene again. The officers convinced the injured man that his injuries required specialist medical attention. Ultimately, accompanied by a police patrol, he was taken to the hospital emergency department.

At the same time, police officers were carrying out procedures involving the 61-year-old suspected of delivering the knife blow. The man was arrested and taken to a police detention room.

A breathalyzer test showed that both the suspect and the injured man had approximately 2 per mille of alcohol in their systems.

Investigators are conducting proceedings to establish the exact course of the incident. Doctors’ opinion on the nature and extent of the injuries sustained by the 30-year-old will be important for the further course of the case.

Police report that regardless of the final legal classification, the arrested 61-year-old will appear before the court. Under Article 157 § 1 of the Criminal Code, causing bodily harm is punishable by imprisonment from 3 months to 5 years.
