On Tuesday, August 4, before noon, emergency services were dispatched to a dangerous incident between Kruszyn and Łaziska.
As we managed to establish, during the unloading of loose material, a truck caught a high-voltage line with its trailer. As a result of the contact, an electric arc formed, causing thermal damage to the vehicle’s tires.
A man was injured in the incident and suffered burns. After leaving the danger zone, he received medical assistance at the scene from a medical rescue team. The man is to be taken to hospital.
Firefighters worked at the scene, securing the area. Until the power was disconnected and the energy services confirmed that it was safe, it was not possible to remove the truck.
The services are appealing for particular caution when carrying out work near overhead power lines. Even accidentally catching the wires with tall vehicles can cause an electric arc and pose a direct threat to life and health.
